Adultcon Announces Award Winners

LOS ANGELES - The first annual Adultcon Awards were held Saturday night at the Key Club on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. Produced by Live Entertainment, the organizers of the Adultcon consumer expo, the awards recognize "outstanding achievement in adult film, arts and entertainment."
The brisk, one-hour ceremony drew a small crowd of roughly 100 people. Several of the award-winners were unable to attend but submitted their acceptance speeches in advance, including Hillary Scott, Courtney Cummz, Sunny Lane, Liv Wylder and Travis Knight.
Awards presenters included New Sensations contract girl Ashlynn Brooke, SexZ Pictures exclusive Paulina James, J-Ho star Renae Cruz, Vivid Girl Kayden Kross, Club Jenna starlet Brea Bennett, AVN's reigning Male Performer of the Year Tommy Gunn, Ben English, Nick Manning, Marcus London and Devon Lee.
Although the much-hyped appearances of Larry Flynt and Tera Patrick did not take place as announced, Club Jenna honcho Jay Grdina did show up to claim his special award for Visionary of the Year. LFP Video President Michael Klein accepted Flynt's Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the Hustler founder. Patrick, named Mainstream Crossover Star of the Year, was unable to attend due to a prior commitment.
Also in attendance: The ubiquitous Lori Lust and manager Craig Stevens; Mia Rose; Rita Faltoyano; Syren; Shy Love and Adult Talent Management hotties McKenzie Michelle, Cameron Kiss, Tabatha Tucker, and Megan Reece; Vanilla Skye; Nautica Thorn and Robert Mora; Dale DaBone; Tee Reel; Dennis D.; Gwen Diamond; Bianca Dagger; Claire Danes; Teravision director Sancho; Jeff Mullen; Steve-O of "Jackass" infamy (mingling with porn stars at the nearby Rainbow Room); and many more. Performer Cleopatra of the Nile introduced all the presenters.
The awards ceremony was followed by a lively after-party, during which AVN staffers drank late into the night until lapsing into what Melville once described as "an opium-like listlessness of vacant, unconscious reverie."
